All Characters created can get one Freebie ability from the following list below. The choice is optional.

While it is possible for your character to have more than one ability, please, be realistic when choosing an ability. For starters, one character can not have all the abilities listed below all at once. If they're 17 though and an animagus, they're likely only in the early stages of becoming one, depending on when they started learning.
Remember that they can only legally start the process of becoming an animagus, at the age of sixteen. However, that doesn't mean that some people may have started earlier, illegal or not. It's just frowned upon if you start before and could get in trouble if caught.
Unlike, being an animagus, some of the other abilities do have the option of your character having more than one at a time. For example, if your character has learned occlumency (or legilimency) then you'll get the option to have your character have learned the other as well (as they often were seen together). if you are unsure if a certain combination would be too much, please ask.

Animagi
A wizard or witch can morph into an animal as a learned skill. This skill is typically learned about in third year transfiguration class. It takes skills, practice, and patience for wizards and witches to become one. The actual processes of becoming one is long and arduous and has the great potential to backfire and cause the transformation to go horribly wrong. Due, to this it is very highly discouraged and even punishable by law (if found) for people to attempt the process before the age of sixteen and it takes at least two years to learn.
Legilimens
The act of invading and navigating through the countless layers someone's mind and memories. Muggles call this mind reading.
Metamorphmagi
Ability for a witch or wizard to morph their physical appearance at will without the use of polyjuice potion. This is extremely rare and is an ability that can NOT be learned. It's an ability that you are born with. Can NOT morph into animals fully, like animagus, but could morph individual body parts into that of animals (ie: tonks' pig nose).
Occlumens
The magical act of closing ones mind, memories, feelings, and preventing influence to Legilimency.
Parselmouth
Ability to talk to snakes.
Seers
Holds the power of the inner eye. The predict the prophecies that are held and protected in the Ministry. True seers are extremely rare.
Spell Inventors
Invent new spells.
Wandless
Can cast spells without a wand
Non Verbal
Can cast spells without saying incantation. Is taught the basics of doing so in 6th year, but not everyone is able to end up doing it.
